Oh my days!! Such exquisite tone! The time you guys make is freakishly mystical. Oh! such time!!! Thankyou! 😅
Having heard James Jamerson's masterful bass playing on Motown and other recordings for many years how - more than fifty, in fact - I am curious to know if any recordings survive of him playing in a straight-ahead jazz context. Are there are any known recordings of Jamerson playing straight-ahead jazz on an acoustic instrument? That is how he started out, before moving over to R&B and the Motown sound.
Agreed. I have an old US made pro jr and my tele just vibes with it
Looks good :)
Cheers Steve! It's a great b roll cam, wouldn't trust it for a proper shoot though
I like the lil bit of editing really makes a difference 😅 xx
Hard to tell much with the mic setup you’re using.
Hi! I have been thinking of buying a Fender pro junior iv. So this is how it it sounds with its own overdrive? Nice! 15W. Is it not too loud for home practice?
Any chance u cld do 'Darling Dear'. Now theres a really unusual bass line.
Just amazing. Its the also the spaces he leaves where he lets a note hang where most of us would add something else....
Nice work.
Sounds mighty mate
Just a delay? Sounds good!
Strymon blue sky V2 and Boss DM2. Overdrive was all from the amp👍
@@NormSpupsEntertainment Thank you for your reply. The BOSS DM2 is great. But more than anything, your playing is very good. This phrase is simple but surprisingly difficult.
car go brom brom
Is that premier, Dangelo , Jay Dee and alchemist in one place at the same time?!😮 🤯
For the life of me can never get the groove of the chorus
That is mean sounding amp, good playing and video gents!
Appreciate that thank you!
Great sounding reverb!!! What reverb is this?
Strymon Blue Sky V2 for reverb
@@NormSpupsEntertainment thanks! And a little slapback, I guess
Nice setup. I have some old Keesonic speakers (from the early 1980s) on my desk, hooked up to an Aiwa amp. I don't use them much nowadays though as I usually just use headphones hooked up to the computer.
Vintage audio is a fun endeavour but not always practical haha. I also use headphones most of the time
What’s the very first song?
OLASEGUN O16 LOVE COOKIES LOVE THE WORLD ❤
The GOAT, in my opinion. No one combined groove, harmony, and melody into a single part as well as he did.
It would sound better with an overdrive pedal / Uni vibe and play Jimi Hendrix ✨🎸✨🇺🇸
Haha I hear that!! Will have to get her warmed up next time
Sounds good but I would definitely need something else too.
Bare in mind no pedals were used on the way in apart from that delay. I want to try top boosting it and OD for the next video...Certainly has a sound that it does very well, won't do high gain shit but then I don't ever use that.
Proper sound. Genius
I've read he never changed those strings on that bass, which may have given him that unique sound.
less so on flatwounds than round sounds, which really lose their tone after a while- flat wounds just tend to sound better the longer you leave them
Great demo!
the title is obvious clickbait
Sorry I'm bad for it!!
didn't expect the perfectly cut scream at the end :)
Hahaha
0:39 pendulum type shit
damn how old is that amp? nice tone!
Less than ten years old I think, new to me
Good looking out on the HQ upload!
Found it on MySpace man. Cheers!
American road
Taaaaaaaaaaaged
That was exotic
what is this footage I've found
Important stuff keep watching
map?
The really good bassists of old were heard but not seen. But today a lot of players want to get into the realm of the virtuoso bassists, why? 10 % of something is better than 100 % of nothing.
Timeless
It’s crazy to miss a guy you never met The extended loop, loops. That’s crazy man
Jamerson is my hero. sounds nothing like my recordings ,sounds like roundwounds and the syncopation isn't near as fluid. just sayin. maybe there's several versions, this one sucks
this is from the 8 track tape in the tammi terrell / marvin gaye recording. I can assure you it's the original, maybe some parts sound different to you because it's the raw tracks, the mix can affect the tone a lot, but nothing about the rhythm is off
DSHIN out damage
Heading off on Migration
Still love this video
I'm just sitting here bobbing my head and grinning the entire time. I'm humbled to have the honor to listen to such greats as Mr. James Jamerson.
You just inspired me to learn this on 6 string. Thank you :)
its always the videos with the date as the title
Nice
Bad Bin
Some body about to sample the f outta that lol
